Introduction
Come to Inchanga Station to experience one of the last places in KwaZulu-Natal with all the old charm of the country. In Inchanga one can view train
locomotives from the steam era, where the oldest running loco in South Africa is housed. Take a tour through the museum, the station and the shed with its workshop, have tea on the veranda of the Station Master's house overlooking the Inchanga Valley and station. The railway-line being the oldest in South Africa still in existence and partly in use today, with most of it opened pre 1880. On bookings one can have lunch in a dining car on the station, Maputo was built in 1930. Book the station, station picnic area or the Station Master's Gardens for a function; birthday parties, engagement parties, wedding receptions and corporate functions can be catered for.

Hiking tours down the railway line toward Drummond can also be organised through booking for any day except Sundays. These tours will include a visit to where the old Inchanga Viaduct used to cross the Inchanga Valley, and the site where the old English Barracks was situated. Donations for the tours are welcome. Dogs are welcome on the tour. Water and a good wide brimmed hat are required, tea, coffee and bottled water can be bought from the museum. It is better to book for early morning hikes, as the railway line can get really hot toward midday.
Guided tours of the museum, station and rolling stock shed, where the steam locos and coaches are kept, are conducted on off-train-running Sundays. Tea, coffee and cool-drinks are served after the tour. Tours cost R20 per adult and R10 per child and excludes refreshement.
